 I am impressed with the new PSV team this season. They have turned around in less than three months from the most hated team in Holland to the most praised team. They have a great attack. Last year they also had a great attack, they scored more than 100 goals, but they ended not as champions cause their defence was always very dangerous and they conceded almost every match.
PSV have made smart transfers and bought former wonderkid Jeffrey Bruma from Chelsea, whose carreer was not going like he imagined. Also they loaned 18 year old Karim Rekik from Manchester City. Together with 18 year old Jetro Willems, a left back who made his debut at the age of 16 at Sparta Rotterdam (and almost made a transfer to Inter Milan at the time) and Brenet or Arias they form the defence. Especially the central duo impresses and are playing like 28year old with much experience. Also Jetro Willlems who was the youngest player to play on a European Championship in 2012 is getting back to his old level, last season he looked like he a spoiled player, he was also left out of all Dutch national squads, even the U19 team, and looks like he has his discipline and mentality back. Willems is one of the greatest talents of the world on left back, his attacking skills are already world class but he has to work on his defensive skills. He seemed to realized this and is showing improvement in the early games of the season.

I have made this bets already a few times this season when PSV this season and I think the bookies are basing this price on last season defence. Cambuur is one of the weaker teams in the Eredivisie. I expect PSV to win here with a clean sheet (again).

Last week was a pretty exciting game. PSV was again playing with the joy like they are doing the whole season and created lots of chances. Milan also create chances but the goal was scored after a horrible personal foul from Memphis Depay. Last week wonderkid Zakaria Bakkali was injured, the expectation is he will return in the squad tonight. He surely will add some class and surprises to the PSV attack. The first leg ended in 1-1. This means PSV needs a victory or a score draw (no 0-0) to go trough. This Milan squad surely still has a lot of quality but not that much in the times of Seedorf, Kaka, Ronaldo and Maldini when they won the Champions League. PSV is already impressing me the whole season, last week they proved they also can play against strong teams, I would not be surprised if PSV manage to get a draw or victory here.

Ajax will miss van Rhijn also cause of a red card. Biggest miss for Ajax will be captain  Siem de Jong, he is injured due to a collapsed lung.

Only on recent form you should say Ajax will win this easily. But this game is seperate of all the games. It is the ''Klassieker' compare it to Barcelona - Real Madrid, maybe the rivalry is bigger in this game.

Also Feyenoord do not want to lose this game cause it will mean that they will have the worst season start ever with 0 points out of 3.

Enough reasons to take the Asian Handicap +1.25. Maybe Ajax will win easily but I think this is value!

NEC will be under high pressure, the last half year they are not winning anymore and the fans are not happy with the coach. Last week they wait for him when they came back from their match. Rumours are that Pastoor has to win this game or he will be fired.

Zwolle started the season well as I expected with 2 wins  in 2 games. They have a great squad and Mokotjo is doing really well in midfield.

Nec will be under high presure and I think Zwolle will take advantage of it.

Eindhoven have started the season well. The first game they drawn at home against title-candidate VVV-Venlo. The second game they beaten last year title contender Helmond Sport with 1-2. This is a different Eindhoven than last season, coach JP de Jong is very demanding he wants to play for the highest places. Also they did some good transfers.


I have seen Telstar play against Jong Ajax and they were not good at all. Last week they have beaten Emmen at home, but Emmen is not one of the top clubs. I think Eindhoven can surprise this season and have a big chance to win this match. I think they should be the favourites for this match.

Statistical

I have did some statiscal research and have made my own odds. It is the first time I did it. This odds are based on the first two games, as I believe teams are always different from a season before due to transfers, different coach, injuries, momentum and different atmosphere.The sample size is not great ofcourse, only two games played but I think they give a realistic view. As I said it is the first time so I can have made mistakes and also I did not have the home advantage in the calculations as it is something I have to look into further.

Feyenoord will want to recover their shamefull loss against PEC Zwolle. Ronald Koeman is demanding for from his players than last year, in his last year at Feyenoord (expectation is that he will leave to go the Dutch national team) he wants to crown his work with the title. Feyenoord has more quality in the squad than the current squad from Twente. Twente has some good talents but they are not ready for the big work yet. Also they have lost Chadli. Twente drawn the first game with 0-0 against relegation candidate RKC, Twente was the dominant team and produced enough shots but they have not the power to score.
Feyenoord is always very strong at home in de Kuip, the most beuatiful stadium of the Netherlands (after het Kasteel ofcourse lol), I have been there and the atmosfere is unbelievable, the stands are shaking and the crowd is amazing. It is not only the story that Feyenoord is strong at home, you can see it also in the stats. Feyenoord did not lose one game at home last year, in fact the last time Feyenoord lost in de Kuip was at 5 November 2011 when NEC beat Feyenoord with 1-0. I expect Feyenoord to recover and especially with the special powers de Kuip the players give I think Feyenoord have a good chance to win this.

Zwolle was the surprise of the Eredivisie last season. They started the year great again with a last minute winner against Feyenoord. They have strenghtend the squad really good. Mokotjo, Fernandez, Nijland; all good players who have top-Eredivisie potential. Also the coach Ron Jans is a topcoach, he ended with Groningen always in the top-half, also with Heerenveen in his last season he did great. Jans is a Zwollenaar, so he wants to make the club of his city proud.

I do not know what to expect from Heracles this season. First I thought they were going to have a difficult season, but they have get some great strikers with the Finnish guy Alexei who I still cannot spell his name. Also Matthew Amoah is in great shape. Against Vitesse last week Vitesse had more posession but still Heracles had 8 Shot on Target and was very threatening with Amoah and Linssen.

Normally Heracles have the advantage of playing ona artificial grass, but Zwolle is playing on it also at home so that will not make the difference. I think Zwolles squad is more in balance and the value certainly lies with Zwolle tonight!

ADO has a great squad this season. V. Duinen, Holla, Coutinho, Jannsen, v. Haaren, Cabral and Gouriye are all great promising Eredivisie players who can make a step up in the future. They started the season with a 2-3 loss against PSV, which is not a shame. I expect a strong season from ADO if v. Duinen stays.

GAE has almost the same squad as last year, they ended 6th place but promoted via the play-offs. During the play-offs they were pretty impressive. Last week against Utrecht they did great the second half and deserved the three points. It was a great performance but I also think it was because of the worse form Utrecht in is and the lack of quality from Utrecht this year.

ADO has on all positions a better squad than GAE. I think ADO will win this. The value is for sure with ADO. I wil go for the ADO +0.25 AH handicap.

Oss did not create much against Jong Twente, it was one-sided traffic in Twentes favour. I was very surprised by this odds, think because the bookies have no idea how Jong Ajax strenght is. Vitesse settled a good result in Romania with the 1-1 draw. The game was pretty open, Vitesse was the better side till Vitesse scored 0-1. After the 0-1 Petrolul began pushing and the Vitesse defence was not solid at all stages.

This weekend Vitesse played home against Heracles Almelo. This was an very attractive game against the old club of Peter Bosz, you would not expect less cause he loves attacking football. Vitesse, in the end, won easily with 3-1. The score could have be much higher, but Heracles also conceded 8 shots on target. Was this the achievement of Heracles of was the Vitesse defence again not very well. I would say both, but the Vitesse defence already looked better than last week in Romania. Especially keeper Velthuizen seems in great form, had some incredible saves and seems to getting back to his old level, when he reached the Dutch squad.

Overall, I was not impressed with the Petrolul side last week. I think if Vitesse can maintain the attacking game they showed last weekend and be a more solid in defende a victory is very appealing, especially because they are playing at home. I see some value in the home win. Vitesse has to win if get a 0-0 draw to go trough. Keeping Bosz's approach in mind, I think Vitesse will play safe, want to impress the crowd again and will go for the victory.

Reaching the milestone of 50 bets; analysis of my performance and some statistics

Today I have reached the milestone of 50 bets since starting my Twitter-account and blog. The reason I started the blog was that I wanted to improve my betting and trading skills, and ofcourse to share my profits with you. After 50 bets the time is right to see how things are developing. To be honest I am not moaning about the results. I started with an fictional bankroll of €200 , meaning I would use a €10 maximum stake (5% of 200).

The Return on Investment is calculating by deviding the current bankroll between the bankroll I started with, my amount willing to risk.

Strike Rate: 56,00% = (28/50) x 100%
The strike rate is calculated by deviding winning bets between the total bets placed. 
Strike Rate (push excepted): 63,64% =  (28/(50-6))x100%
 If I decide to except the pushed bets from the total bets my Strike Rate becomes even higher.

Loss Rate:

Cambuur was great last season but only became champions because rivals were failing. (mainly Sparta R. / Volendam). Also Cambuur lost Tighadouini, who returned to Vitesse.

NAC did some great business at the transfermarket. NAC also has a good coach with Gudelj, when he took over, the second half of the season was brilliant. Only big loss for NAC is the leaving of Gudelj son Nemanja, who was playmaker last season. Also central defender Botteghin left for FC Groningen.

Still NAC has a better squad, and the players of Cambuur do not have Eredivisie experience, or only a little bit.
That is why I think NAC is a value bet.

 PSV was very impressive against Zulte-Waregem this week. No one expected anything, cause of the leaving of all keyplayers. But in fact, it looks like the lots of changes did PSV good. In attack they have some exciting youngsters. In midfield they won the battle for Adam Maher and grabbed some experience with Schaars. The biggest win for PSV is in defence, last season the defence was every week very worrieng. In fact, PSV scored more than 100 goals but conceded a lot. Ajax is the huge favorite for this match. 1.15 to win. And this is justly as Ajax is the much better team and has huge goalscoring potential. Ajax defence has been better since last year. Kenneth Vermeer is a great goalkeeper. Against AZ Ajax was sometimes a bit sloppy so you should say Roda has a chance to score a goal. But in fact, I do not understand the hype of Roda getting European football this season. Ofcourse they did a great job with getting Kali, but the rest are all average Eredivisie players. The only thing today where I can see a goal from Roda would be a Fledderus free kick. So in fact I think this bet is value and has a great chance of winning, especially cause Ajax is playing at home.

Vitesse, has got to see some big players leave. Van Ginkel and Kalas left for Chelsea and Bony was finally transferred after a transfersoap to Swansea City. This will be a great loss for Vitesse, as they were the strongholders of last season. But still Vitesse has a great squad.

Petrolul won easy with 0-7 in two legs from Vikingur. Vikingur is nothing compared to Vitesse, so they will be facing a real other level today.

Personally I am thinking this will end in a draw, but you never know if Reis/Pedersen , Ibarra and Kakuta will stand up today already so a protection in a Vitesse win is very nice.
